Can you tell that SOMEBODY was super EXCITED??!!
We spent Saturday afternoon walking on the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, playing in the sand, and splashing in the waves.
Jenna had a ball....
Ryan's first ocean experience....
He wouldn't stop staring at the sand....
He really seemed to enjoy the texture....
.......a lot. (be advised.....sand and thumb sucking are NOT a good combination!)

Then, he got over it....ate.....
and slept
There's nothing like a nice nap on a warm beach!
Jenna and Daddy managed to have some fun playing...despite the horrendous crowd....
We then checked to the hotel, cleaned up, and headed to dinner at Kianti's in downtown Santa Cruz....where they have AWESOME pasta and a fabulous little dinner show (the cooks and wait staff all dance around on the tables with boas while throwing pizza dough in the air. It's adorable!)

Ryan stayed bundled in his carseat....happily sucking his thumb and taking in the sights and sounds around him....
We didn't get back to the hotel until after 11:00 pm and we were all exhausted.
Sunday morning we were up early and after some quick showers and a light breakfast we headed to Aptos/Seacliff Beach (got there by 10:00 am) for some relaxing beach time. It was so nice there and MUCH less crowded than Santa Cruz...we practically had the whole beach to ourselves for the first few hours. We played in the sand, collected rocks, watched some dolphins and sea lions play in the water, saw a starfish (Jenna even touched it) and...of course....Mommy took tons of pictures!
The tripod came in VERY handy! I was actually able to be IN some family pictures!
Wow....a picture of JUST Mommy and Daddy? A very rare occurance indeed!!
Afterwards, we headed into Capitola for lunch overlooking the water at Zelda's (Yummy) and then we headed back home.
SOOO much love between these two!
On the way home, Daddy got pulled over for speeding (75 in a 55) but the nice CHP officer let us off with a warning so we were all smiles when we pulled into our driveway at around 5:30 pm.

Oh well...it was worth it! We can't wait to go back to THE BEACH!!

Kelly all of your pictures are AWESOME! I love them all it is looks like you had a wonderful vacation and that your weather was beautiful! I love all the photos of Jenna - she is always so busy and of course Ryan is as cute as can be - and the sand/thumb sucking pictures is GREAT! Hope you guys recovered well and that your DH drives slower - he he! Have a great weekend!
