Turning Pink and Gaining Weight

Just wanted to report that Ryan had his follow up doctor's appt. yesterday to check his weight and bilirubin levels. I'm happy to report that he had turned the corner and is no longer the scrawny yellow baby he was last week. He gained 6 oz over the weekend and his skin is so pink and healthy looking that Dr. Lattin didn't even require a traumatic heel poke bloodtest!

Ryan, who weighed 8 lbs 13 oz at birth and was discharged from the hospital at 8lbs 6 oz, lost even more weight and (after nearly a week of round the clock nursing) reached an all time low of just under 8 lbs last Friday, 1/2/09. It was at that point that I (with some serious urging from the Dr.) decided that it was time to give in to formula supplementing. Since then I have the worlds happiest, pinkest, healthiest little boy, who now weighs 8 lbs 6 oz again!
