Funny Kid

Conversation between Jenna and her Auntie Elaine the other day. Elaine had picked her up from preschool and they were running errands, which included a trip to the ATM so that Elaine could deposit a check in her account....

Jenna: "What are you doing?"

Auntie Elaine: "I'm depositing a check in my account."

Jenna: "Can you get some money out too?"

Auntie Elaine: "Why, did you want to go do something?"

Jenna: "I don't know...."

Auntie Elaine: "Well then, why do I need to get money?"

Jenna: "In case I want to do something later....I just don't want you to say you don't have any money."

Seriously? She's FOUR??

What do you get when you take a blue paper bonnet.....

Gimme Money!

So Jim and I have been thinking that it might be a good idea to start giving Jenna an allowance soon. We were thining maybe $2 in quarters every week would be a good start. The other day we decided to talk to her about this...to see if she thought it was a good idea. We explained that she would get a little bit of money every week but if she didn't do her chores (like help set/clear the table and help clean up her room...etc) we would take money out of her allowance. She seemed to like the whole idea but not much else was said about it after that.

A few days later she was sitting at the table quietly eating her dinner. Jim commented that she was doing a great job of eating all of her food and leaning over ...etc...to which Jenna replied...."I've been good all day...huh Dad? Maybe you guys could give me some cash?"

We just. about. DIED!

Where does this kid come up with these things???

Ryan has a new word....

.... and the word is "NO!"

I got him out of his crib this morning. He was wet as usual (the boy is a pee'ing machine at night). We went through our usual routine of changing his diaper and I exclaimed that his PJ's were wet. I said to him...."Oh no...you don't want to wear these wet jammies do you? No!"...to which he squealed with delight..."NO! NO! NO!!" and he laughed...and I laughed...and Jenna laughed...and then I realized that this word was probably gonna cause me more grief than joy in the months to come.

Am I ready for my little sweet baby boy to grow up??

In a word....

NO!!

Valentine's Day

This post is a bit late....but better late than never right?

Here are some cute pictures taken on/near Valentine's Day 2010.

Jenna had a fun little party at school and Grandma Mary decided to join us. Jenna had a blast and obviously had fun showing off for her Grandma and introducing her to her friends, her school and her teachers.

Here she is with her class, all lined up in the hallway....waiting to wash their hands and use the potty after outside playtime.

Jenna at the party...ready for some lunch! She's sitting next to her pal Jake (who turns out to be quite the talker!)

Jenna and her "GranMary"

Jenna and Mommy (not the greatest picture of Mommy...but oh well!)

Jenna's spot on the carpet during class circle time...etc...

This year, Mommy and Jenna decided to make Daddy (who brought mommy some beautiful red roses) a cake for Valentine's Day.

Daddy loved it....and so did Jenna!

We also decided to make one for Mimi and Boppa.

Mommy got creative with the little marshmallow flowers. They loved it!

Jenna with the butterfly art she made in school for Valentine's Day.....

it was SO cute!

Later on...we decided to give the sponge rollers a shot....

Sadly...she wouldn't keep them in long enough to curl her hair so there are no real "after pictures".....

She did, however, manage to put her brother's hair in ponytails....

As you can see...he was T-H-R-I-L-L-E-D!

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day everyone!
